About
Hoops Redraft lets you take over a real club and redraft the league from that year forward. It is a fan game. The league's own name is not the name of this one, on purpose.
Who runs it
The site and the apps are operated by SHABU PTY LTD, ABN 78 605 154 345. The contact address is support@hoopsredraft.com. There is no separate press office and no phone line. If you need a person, that inbox is the person.
Hoops Redraft is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the National Basketball Association, the National Basketball Players Association, any team, or any player. Referring to the league, in the privacy page and on these guides, is how you say which basketball the file is about. Using the league's name as the name of the product is a different thing, and this project does not do it.
What you are playing
You pick a season from 1976-77 through 2020-21 and a city, and you inherit the squad that club really had. Every other club keeps its real squad too. Then you play forward, from one season up to twenty, drafting each year's real class in the order those players were really taken. Careers end when they really ended. The rating on a man is what he did that season, not a single number for his whole life.
The current file rates 3,979 players across the fifty seasons from 1976-77 through 2025-26. 2,861 of them have a draft year and a pick number. The rest played and were never tagged with one. Both groups are real people. The board does not pad itself with anonymous forwards.
Results are simulated from those ratings. They are not a replay of the real standings, and a grade is how far you landed from what that club really achieved. How to play is the walkthrough. Ratings and grades is the method.
Where the facts come from
Names, dates, positions, colleges and per-season statistics come from Wikipedia, by its contributors, under CC BY-SA 4.0. The ratings are computed from those box scores. No article prose is copied onto these pages. Club nicknames exist in the file as lookup keys and are not shown. The screen uses the city, or a three-letter short form when two clubs share one.
The guides on this site read that same file. If a pick number here disagrees with a memory, the page is following the file the game actually ships, not a cleaned-up history. A few classes are messy in the source. The 1976 page says so instead of pretending the list sorts.
The other game, and the apps
Hoops Redraft is the basketball sibling of Footy Redraft, which does this for Australian rules football. They are separate games. A run in one does not carry into the other.
You can play in the browser, with nothing to install. There is also an iOS app and an Android app. The home page shows the store that matches the phone you are on, and both on a computer. The website's ads, if you see them, are the two spots described in the privacy page: before a run, and on the summary after one. The apps have their own ad rules, and their own optional purchase to remove them. This website does not sell that purchase.
What this site will not do
It will not show a logo, a jersey, or a nickname as if this were a licensed product. It will not take an account in exchange for a save. It will not put an ad on a draft pick or a season button. If something on a page contradicts the game, the game and the file win, and the page should be corrected. Write to the contact page with the version number from the footer.
